BONTANG – Badak LNG is exploring cooperation in the LNG Hub project with PT Surya Integrasi Energi (SIE) which is also partnering with investors from Malaysia and China. With an LNG storage capacity of up to 600,000 m3 owned by Badak LNG, the LNG Hub project is believed to be able to support the availability of clean energy globally because it can be distributed to customers in various sectors, including industry, transportation, and the general public. The potential partners are excited about the Badak LNG Refinery facilities which will be developed into an LNG Hub facility.

Suparman, a representative from PT SIE said that the LNG facilities owned by Badak LNG are very qualified to become an LNG Hub.
“As a company that has been running for more than 45 years, I am quite impressed with Badak LNG. The refinery facilities are still well maintained and functioning properly. Apart from that, the residential area and factory are also very clean,” said Suparman in his statement, Tuesday (11/7).

He hopes that this visit can be followed up with concrete cooperation to the next stage.
“Hopefully in the future there will be a good cooperation with Badak LNG,” he said.

Through this visit, it is hoped that it will create a positive impact on the Indonesian LNG and energy industry, especially Bontang City and play an important role in supporting national energy security and sustainable economic growth. Apart from seeing the refinery facilities, the investors from Malaysia and China who were accompanied by the City Government of Bontang also had the opportunity to inspect the land around the Badak LNG Plant, namely in the Bontang Lestari area for potential to become a future green hydrogen factory, and seek collaboration with existing facilities at the LNG Plant.(RI)
